What a lot of women don’t know is that 5-1-1 is when you have just entered into Active Labor and just finished Early Labor and you still have hours to go until you meet your baby. Women also don’t know that their contractions will more than likely start spacing out once they get to the hospital if they go straight at 5-1-1. Not to add more confusion, but my 5-1-1 ended up being completely bogus. My labour progressed so fast that I dilated to 8cms within 4 hours. In that time, my contractions that were 5 minutes apart only lasted 45 seconds and went on for 30 minutes before transitioning to 2-3 minutes apart lasting for only 30-45 seconds each.
